Canon InfoCanon Name: Tsukasa Yugi
Canon Age: Tsukasa was 13 when he died but technically 55+ because he’s been ghosting around
Canon: Jibaku Shonen Hanako-kun
Character Summary: At age four, Tsukasa Yugi disappeared. Seemingly into thin air until one day he just showed back up. But something seemed wrong, something that Tsukasa’s mother certainly noticed as she argued Tsukasa was no longer her son. However, nobody else seemed to notice and thought her claims were bizarre.
What nobody knew was that Tsukasa had made a deal with an ancient god that lived underneath their house. His life in exchange for his twin’s, Amane’s. His older twin had been very sick and for a good chunk of time, he had been feeding the god different animals in exchange for gifts for his brother. If there is one thing to know about Tsukasa, he steadfastly loves his brother. It is easily the biggest part of his character. So when Amane lashed out at Tsukasa and said he didn’t need anything else but to be as healthy as Tsukasa, Tsukasa took that at face value. He decided to give up his life for Amane thinking Amane didn’t need him. It’s very black or white for Tsukasa. He couldn’t see grey even if he tried. This is one of his biggest problems.
We don’t know much about the time between his reappearing and when he was 13. Tsukasa was outgoing and from flashbacks, seemed to get along well with his classmates. While Amane would skip class, had no friends, and would show up with bruises and obvious signs of abuse, Tsukasa showed no signs of there being anything wrong at all. We still don’t know why (a common theme in this canon…) but Amane killed Tsukasa when they were 13 in a (implied) murder-suicide. Amane became Hanako, leader of the school mysteries, and Tsukasa his yorishiro. For fifty years, Tsukasa never did see Amane. Canon hasn’t stated what was happening but it’s implied Tsukasa was plotting for some reason, which is his thing. He always seems to have some plot. It is easy to think that Tsukasa is just random but there seems to be some reasons for the things he does. Tsukasa says it’s because he wants the barrier between the two worlds to be gone, that supernaturals should do as they please, but there’s some underlying motive to this.
Tsukasa is shown to be the villain and very menacing. Some of our first introductions for him are him terrorizing his brother and killing innocent supernaturals. He loves violence, always gleefully doling it out. Yet we also see him cheerfully introduce himself and Sakura saying he’s reliable sometimes. Tsukasa truly acts like a little boy, rough-housing and all. Despite his simple personality, he's a master manipulator in the most childish of ways. You don't say no to Tsukasa because what Tsukasa might do could be worse if you would have said yes and he knows he frightens people.
On the positive, it is shown that he will not hurt people if he's told he shouldn't. For example, when Yashiro gets in the way of his plans, he grabs her head and is about to bash her head in before he stops himself and remarks "Oh, I'm supposed to be nice to girls..." and then works to make sure she stays alive. All because someone had told him you're supposed to treat girls nicely. Tsukasa can control himself but he really picks and chooses when he wants to.
Handling Tsukasa is like a constant game, one where he's very hard to beat because he's unpredictable. Which is his role in the plot: unpredictable. You truly have no idea what’s going on with him and everybody in the canon (and fans) is questioning what Tsukasa’s actually up to. Until we know, Tsukasa will keep being a menace and living his best life to the misery of others.
AU InfoAU Name: Tsukasa Yugi
Age: Turning 15 in November thanks to Amane being played here for a year.
Suitability: Over 13!
AU History: > Tsukasa Yugi was born into a very normal family with his identical twin, Amane. Their family owns a cafe/flower shop named Camellia. It’s been in the family and while it doesn’t make the family rich, they’re doing just fine. The twins are supposed to help out but that relies mostly on Amane because Tsukasa is a menace to patrons and the other employees. On the outside, they’re a respectable family that nobody has problems with. However, there’s always whispers about Tsukasa and how he’s a little strange.
> When Amane was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect, this put Amane into the focus. Not that Tsukasa ever seemed to show any problem with this as he wasn’t neglected by any means. His only issue was he would want to spend more time with his brother but would be told he needed to give Amane space. When Amane would have to stay inside due to being sick, Tsukasa wanted to stay inside with him but would always be shooed outside. Left to his own devices, it was a miracle nothing bad happened to him. However, this did give him a talent for snooping as he would sneak into places he absolutely should never have gone and heard things he shouldn’t. He is very knowledgeable about dirty secrets.
> Tsukasa loved to hear stories from Ai Hoshino, a patron of the cafe, with his brother about Dreamers and learned all about it. Tsukasa, being so much more outgoing than his older twin, was thought to be the one who might become a Dreamer. When Amane was attacked by a nightmare, Tsukasa went chasing after it. However, that got him stuck in Dream Sphere. Somehow, this little goober wasn’t scared and got himself stuck in a “disturbance” that wasn’t quite the ones we know today. While it was absolutely dangerous, he seemed to just know what to do to survive thanks to Ai’s stories. He knew how to hide or where to go. Skill? A miracle? A mix of both?? He wondered if maybe if he kept looking, it would be possible to find someone who might be able to help his brother. While he was sure he knew how to get out, he didn’t want to. Not until he could figure out how to help Amane and didn’t even think about how worried his family would be.
>Cue Crimson. Not knowing the meaning of stranger danger, he basically told her his entire story because she seemed like someone who could grant wishes! He told her about how much he loved his older brother and he would do anything to help with his sickness. Luckily, this was the right thing to say. She offered him a deal and told him one day he would have to make a great sacrifice but his brother would always be safe. Sounding like a GREAT deal, he accepts. He does end up with a Sandglass but Crimson tells him not to use it until the “time is right” and to not talk about any of this at all. And then like it’s the easiest thing in the world, he just pops back out and pretends like nothing ever happened.
>Once he came back, he hid his Sandglass like he was told to do underneath his house which was the one spot Amane would never follow him under. While Tsukasa still had no idea what “when the time is right” really meant, he figured it was sort of instinctual and life went on. Though it seemed like everybody looked at him differently.
>Life went on as usual. Until Amane ends up being attacked by a Nightmare again. While Amane Awakened, Tsukasa thought he should stay back. After all, it didn’t take a rocket scientist to know Amane wasn’t always happy with Tsukasa and even though they always talked about exploring the Dream Sphere together, Tsukasa let Amane do this on his own. It wasn’t the “right time”. Yes, even when Amane ran away into the Dream Sphere. Yes, even as Amane’s guilt was eating him alive, and was willing to make his own deal for Tsukasa to be a Dreamer. Not the “right time”.
>The “right time” was Amane transferring schools. Tsukasa Awakened so he could continue going to the same school as Amane. Now he’s ready for them to go and live their best lives in the Dream Sphere. That great sacrifice he was told about? Eh don’t worry about it.
AU Personality: Tsukasa Yugi is a gremlin. This never changes. He is a loud and very energetic boy who can be a tad bit…okay, VERY annoying sometimes. The boy cannot sit still, wants to touch everything, and might just put whatever there is lying around in his mouth. He is absolutely a menace and you need to have the patience of a saint to deal with this kid. However, since he never did sacrifice his life for Amane and let a god hang out in his belly, he’s not nearly as violent as his canon self. But sometimes he’s too rough without realizing it and has to be told to be gentler, nicer, etc. He’s far more irresponsible than Amane and everybody knows you don’t rely on Tsukasa. While he is very loyal to those he’s close to, he does not show much concern for anybody else. Yet he’s got a strangely good read on people. Probably thanks to his habit of sticking his nose where it doesn’t belong. As previously mentioned, he got very good at snooping and likes to know everybody’s business. If a rumor is going around, it may have been started by Tsukasa.
Another thing that never changes is Tsukasa’s world is Amane. If you ask Tsukasa to talk about himself, it won’t take long for him to start talking about his brother. But like his canon self, he can be blind to some things. He knows Amane gets annoyed with him and is jealous about how Tsukasa is healthy so he assumes he doesn’t matter as much to Amane as Amane does to him. It’s a similar thing with everybody. Since Amane was the focus of the family due to his health, Tsukasa simply views himself as not as important. It doesn’t bother him, though. He absolutely has a loving family, blood and not blood-related. But well, he just isn’t that important! It’s fine. It’s how life just be sometimes.
Though he may not realize but one of the reasons he does act out is because it’s what you gotta do when you’re growing up in the situation he is in and a brother who does need all the attention and care he gets. He’s a bit blind to his own problems, not understanding that he does feel left out. Tsukasa thinks it’s fine because he loves Amane and Amane needs so much more help than him but does not realize when he’s being too self-sacrificial. He’s a bit dumb about himself, his needs, and what his own actions may do.
Other AU Changes: He does okay at school, his teachers think he could be way better if he applied himself…unless it’s science and then he’s top of the class. This kid may just grow up to be a mad scientist and he has so many disturbing science facts up his sleeve. Just where does this kid get these ideas??
Dreamer Info (Remove if not applicable)Dreamer Title: Dreamer Yorishiro
Appearance: link but the blacks are more of medium purple color and the yorishiro stamp stays on him but instead of a rectangle, it’s a heart.
Archetype: Novice
Weapon: A quill. It’s supposed to be used to draw creatures to attack (usually just pommeling enemies) but he uses it to stab far too often.
Power Considerations: 1.Kokujoudai: similar to Hanako’s yet black used for attacks and surveillance. At D rank, it doesn’t go very far and usually just around his immediate parameter. Sometimes used to wrap around enemies and keep them in place.
2. Mad Creation: Will take things from around his area to turn into creatures to fight for him, kind of like a familiar. D rank, they would probably not be very big, very few items, and get destroyed easily.
3. Levitation: can float around about a foot off of the ground at D rank and cannot do it for very long but good for dodging.
4. Siren Call: sings a song to attract enemies closer to him. At D rank, it does not carry very far and the stronger that it gets, the wider it goes.
Signature Power: Not yet!
RP Sample: TDM linkOther Notes: have my favorite little thing
